From the What If? movie studio

I haven’t done a What If? movie poster in over a year now but tonight I had an idea and a little extra time.

Super hero movies are all the rage at the theatre and zombies rule the TV screen so how could a movie that combined the two fail?

I will try to share more movie ideas as soon as they pop into my head. If you have an idea and think it could be made into a good movie poster let me know.

What if I could be a Ghostbuster?

I must admit the Ghostbusters movie had an impact on me. I was still a kid when the movie came out. I remember seeing Slimer for the first time, I can still sing most of the lyrics to the theme song and I really wanted to try some of that roasted marshmallow after Stay Puff was destroyed.staypuff

Of course the main reason I wanted to be an honorary member of the Ghostbuster’s was to be able to go cruising the streets in Ecto-1. Every other station wagon looking vehicle in existence became even more mundane at the site of the Ectomobile.

Being able to say things like “We came, we saw, we kicked it’s ass” “I got slimed” and “If someone asks if you are a god, you say yes” without sounding cheesy? Only the Ghostbusters could pull those off.

And I too would have eventually crossed the streams. After all when someone says “it would be very bad” without more explanation, you have to figure out exactly what they mean right?

The only bad part I can see is having to carry around all that equipment. Maybe by now the technology has advanced enough that it is no longer so much or so heavy. I wonder it there is an app for catching ghosts?

I might just check into it. If not maybe I can invent the first app for trapping spirits and the evil things that go bump in the night. Maybe I’ll even run into a sexy possessed female spirit. Bet the wife wouldn’t be happy about it though.

Long live the Ghostbusters!

What if the apocalypse wasn’t so popular?

Why is it that as a species, humans are so intrigued by the thought of the apocalypse? No matter the form, the end of everything as we know it is written about, talked about or debated on almost constantly. It’s not only the religious aspects of the apocalypse such as the four horsemen either, it’s every possible scenario we can find.

I’ve even been guilty of indulging in the end of times myself. Two of my favorite TV shows either revolve around or have themes that use the apocalypse as subject matter. The Walking Dead is one of the most popular television series out now or recently and it is nothing but constant death and pain during a Zombie Apocalypse. Supernatural has visited and re-visited almost every possible scenario of a biblical apocalypse, went past it and found new ways to create the possible end to civilization. The thing is, I enjoy almost every minute of these shows and their end it all stories.

On several occasions on my blogs I’ve been known to mention the forthcoming Robot Apocalypse. Machines are one day almost surely going to develop into an artificial intelligence that enslaves mankind. Why is it I feel this way? Maybe because I have seen or heard stories about this possibility almost my entire life. The ways may be different, but the result is almost always the same. Robots will enslave us!

Sunday photo fiction November 10, 2013

Write a flash fiction story of around 100 to 200 words based on the photo below. For the Sunday photo fiction writing prompt

Oh, but what to do with the ship. It was Ronnie’s prized possession. He had cut, sanded and painted many a night before he got it to be what he wanted. It gave him peace to know he created it, a memory to his own father. Ronnie never spent a day on a ship in his life, but could still quote stories of sea monsters and long voyages beyond the sight of land.

The last few years it had been a center piece for every one to see. Every nurse who came by to check on him and every friend who stopped in for a visit would ask about the ship. Ronnie would let loose of tales that kept them occupied for hours.

Every night Ronnie would lean down, put a hand on the ship and pray. Somewhere during the prayer he would always thank his father for everything he had given to his family, including the sacrifice he made to save many men the night the storm took him from this earth.

Now Ronnie’s time to rest had come and still the ship remained. How could something so precious to him be given away? Oh, what to do with the ship?

My ideas for future movies

You’re probably wondering what happened during part one since this is the sequel. Well we don’t have time to go into that right now and it didn’t make any sense anyway.

What if you combined flies, dinosaurs and ghosts in one package?

Now that’s entertainment!
