11/18/2013 Writing challenge. What if you spoke your mind?

2672889152_0fa1bf6ebc_nThis weeks What if challenge.

What if you spoke your mind?

Have you ever had inner thoughts that would cause major problems if anyone knew what you were really thinking or heard the conversation in your head?

Think about a conversation you had recently or overheard. Then show us what might be said if all parties spoke exactly what they were thinking instead. If you want to expand it, tell us about the consequences from this conversation.

As always, anything goes with this challenge. You can write a post specific to the challenge or just inspired by it. It can be taken from real events or the imagination. I want to see your thoughts on the subject.

Short example.

Actual conversation

Wife: What do you think of these new shoes?
Husband: I like them. And they look great with that dress.

Version 2

Wife: I don’t care if you like these or not but I feel I need to include you
Husband: Those are the ugliest shoes I’ve ever seen. I bet you paid too much for them.

9/22/2013 Writing challenge. What if you were a movie character?

movieThis weeks What if writing challenge

What if you were a movie star character?

Tell us what movie you are from and what character you are (or don’t and try to make us guess). Now write me a post as that character.

Anything goes with the What if challenge so if you want to wimp out and write me a post as Batman go ahead, but I think Michael Myers or Dumbledore might make a better post. Maybe Sir Ulrich von Lichtenstein or Bruce Leroy (Two of my favorite characters, bonus points to anyone who knows the movies they are from).

Or maybe even a random character from your favorite movie that no one else has heard of. Just have fun with it.

9/15/2013 Writing challenge. What if you let your dark side take over?

head-33699_640This week’s What if challenge.

What if you let your dark side take over?

An unfortunate event has allowed the Devil to own your soul. He has decided to give you a chance to get it back but to win it you must bring a smile to the Devil’s face with your actions. He allows you to have one full day in which you can do anything your heart desires without fear of consequences, retaliation, retribution or prosecution.

What does your darker half have in store for the rest of us? What can you do to make the Devil smile but still keep your humanity?

As always, anything goes with the What if challenge, but I don’t want you to wimp out and say “I can’t do that, I don’t have a dark side”. Yes, you do. Now release it and start posting, just remember it’s good for just the one day. I don’t want to be responsible for permanently releasing demons on the world.

9/1/2013 Writing challenge. What if you were a mad scientist?

I’m going to try this again. I will be randomly posting a what if challenge (maybe eventually I will make it a little less random. I’ll ask a what if question and want to know what your answers are. I will be reading each post and possibly reblogging my favorites.

Mad_scientistToday’s what if challenge:

What if you were a mad scientist? Do you want to create a monster like Frankenstein? Would you be bent on destroying the world or taking it over?

Imagine you have the knowledge, the lab and the madness. What are you going to do with it?
