What if I offered my blog for your entertainment?

The following infomercial has been inspired by todays Daily Prompt: As seen on TV which asks you to write a script for a late-night infomercial — where the product is your blog. How do you market yourself? What qualities do you embody that other “products” don’t? What are the benefits of reading your blog?

It is not necessarily the opinion of this site or its owners and any products are the responsibility of the individual promoters

Are you tired of the ordinary? You say you’ve been reading blogs for years and your tired of all the informative posts that say the same things in a different way. You enjoy reading the family oriented blogs but sometimes you just need something different? Well maybe it’s time to check out

Okay, What if?

A blog unlike the ordinary, but rather extraordinary.

Where else will you find stories that involve zombies, bigfoot or talking dogs? Okay you can find these almost anywhere but I bet you never read about a clone death match before! What about a cell phone call that might bring about the end to human kind?

You’ll see these stories and more just by visiting Okay, what if? There is no cover charge but a little interaction is highly recommended. If you like something you can easily let someone know by hitting that button that says like. If you want to comment you should be sure to add it to the section that says comments and soon you will receive a response straight from the sites author. Where else can you get service like that?

If you act right now we can even throw in the archives which will include posts about devils, aliens, robots and mad scientists. Along with these subjects will be some humor sprinkled all about.

But wait, there’s more

If you act now we will even include the Weekly What If Writing Challenge now in its seventh week. This will include links to stories by other great bloggers at no extra charge!

But wait, I have even more

You will also have full access to all future posts from the blog. This is an unlimited source that should keep you entertained for years to come.

Tell your friends, family and neighbors. For every friend you refer you get a fellow follower. That’s even more people to inspire more content and more interaction. Act now, this offer may not last long! (Actually I’ll probably still have this offer available for a while but I need to make it sound urgent)

The following people have been helpful in creating the world of blogging and are slightly responsible for this sites existence. Please stay tuned to the very end of the credits for more info

Okay there’s actually not any more information available. I didn’t really think anyone would stay to the end of the credits.

What if time stands still?

For a moment today, time stands still — but you can tweak one thing while it’s stopped. What do you do?
Photographers, artists, poets: show us STILLNESS.

Sounds like a great time to check and make sure I zipped up this morning. Yep, I’m good to go. Didn’t even have to sneak it in today.

Just for some fun I will throw in a picture of what may be causing a little stillness for a lot of us very soon.

For today’s Daily Post: Standstill

Thank you, Thank you… Did I say thank you yet?

Thank you for the follow
And thank you for the like
If you chose to follow me
Follow you back I just might

If something that I posted
You liked along the way
Know how special I feel
Your like made my day

And thank you for the chance
To share thoughts with the world
Before I started blogging
Thoughts in my head just swirled

I had no one to listen
But keeping quiet was rough
Now I blog almost daily
About zombies, dragons and stuff

I even started to write
A few poems and short stories
Every post I share
Causing me some worries

Who is going to read this
And what if they don’t like it
Will they think I’m crazy
Or maybe a tad eccentric

Now it’s two months later
And I feel I have a path
People enjoying my writing
And I am thankful for that

I enjoy blogging immensely
And have no plans to stop
This bit of verse I share
Thanks to the daily prompt.

Post written in response to the Daily Prompt: Thanks
The internet is full of rants. Help tip the balance: today, simply be thankful for something (or someone).
Photographers, artists, poets: show us THANKS.

Want to see more thankful people:

An Unusual View: Weekly Photo Challenge 9/6/2013

An Unusual View: Weekly Photo Challenge

Challenge yourself to rethink your ideas about what subjects are appropriate, and then challenge yourself again to find an unusual perspective on your subject.

Okay, what if my seven year old niece grabbed the camera during her birthday party and ran around the house taking pictures? I have no idea what this was (I think maybe a wall hanging that wasn’t on the wall) but it actually made for a striking picture. The unusual view through the eyes of a seven year old and what she thought would make a great picture (She also took several shots of the bathroom toilet)

What if I multi-tasked my 100th post?

Can you even believe this is my 100th post. Three months in with over 2200 views so far. There is a lot going on in the What if? world right now so I decided to multi-task this post.

First off thank you to everyone who made me feel creative enough to continue posting almost every day, sometimes more than once. I hope I have been able to keep you interested and entertained and didn’t just bombard you with my ramblings.

I just posted the finale to my short story What if I found out my mom was an alien and my dad was a robot? I think the story is a lot of fun with a few tears possible toward the end. I started it as one post and it quickly developed into four and the ending even left it open for more. I didn’t realize it myself until the end I was writing a possible Super-Hero’s origin story. If you get a chance check it out and let me know what you think. I’ll warn you it’s a fairly long read, but hopefully well worth it.

I re-started my What if writing challenge this week based on the recommendations of a couple great blogging friends. I’ve had a few takers and think it could turn into something great so I have decided to make it a weekly feature. I will post a challenge or prompt on Sundays and give until Thursday at midnight Eastern time to get the posts in. Again, if you get a chance to stop in and check it out, let me know what you think. Then visit the great posts submitted and let them know as well. I will also accept suggestions for a challenge if you have any.

And finally to some recent awards I have been nominated for. The Novice gardener nominated me for the

Very Inspiring Blogger

Sunshine Award

Best Moment Award

And I was also nominated by technophile9 for the

Most Creative Blogger Award

Most Creative Blogger Award

Along with his nomination he gave me one of the best compliments I have received since I started blogging so thank you for that.

All of these awards have rules but I’ll admit I haven’t took time to look them up. They usually require you to tell something about yourself (which I do everyday with my posts) and nominate others for the awards. For my nominations you only need look at my blogging neighbors which appear in my widget area on every page. These are all great blogs that contain creativity, great moments, inspiring moments and will bring a little sunshine to your day. Thank you to

Rob’s Surf Report

The Geeky G4mer

If I only had a Time Machine

Return of the Modern Philosopher

Just a Selection of Notions

For helping me enjoy my blogging experiences. There are many other deserving blogs to see and I find new ones everyday.

So my first 100 posts are in the book. Stay tuned for the next 100 or 1000. Okay, getting a little ahead of myself now but I will be back tomorrow with more so I’ll see you then and thank you for reading.

What if I was Nominated? Episodes 3, 4, 5

It’s taken a couple weeks and now I am ready to receive my awards. I was recently nominated for

The Versatile Blogger award

by Rob at Rob’s Surf Report and Ruvi at Escaping a Daydream

The Loyal Reader Award

By Rob at Rob’s Surf Report

And the WordPress Family Award

By Rob from Rob’s Surf Report

I consider it a great honor to be recognized with these awards. It would seem great blogs think alike. Thank you Rob and Ruvi for believing I was worthy of these awards. A special thanks to you Rob for nominating me for three different awards. Great thing about that is it means you were nominated for all three first. For anyone who hasn’t visited Rob before you should definitely check his blog out.

A stipulation to these awards is to answer a few questions or tell a few facts about yourself, so here goes:

In eighth grade my family moved and I went to a new school. Upon starting I was told by another classmate my double had moved away from this school the year before. He said I looked just like his former classmate. I felt bad for this guy who looked just like me.

Before a Red Sox at Braves game several years ago I was in the stands and pitcher Pedro Martinez tossed me a baseball while he was stretching in the outfield.

When I was a kid to pass time during my brothers little league game, me and a few friends played our own game in the surrounding area with a rolled up cup we hit with our hands. I was chasing this cup after another boy hit it and ran smack into a set of wood bleachers head first. This led to three stitches and a very upset mom.

I can’t skate or even stand on a skateboard and never could. I will fall flat on my ass in under five seconds.

I once backed my car into a telephone poll that was more than five feet off the driveway, but I’ve learned to drive a lot better since

Another stipulation to these awards is to name other bloggers you believe are worthy of receiving. I have been mentioning other blogs and bloggers quite a bit lately in my posts so I decided I would change it up a little with this acceptance post.

If you have a blog you think is worthy, know of another persons blog or want me to take a look at yours to see what I think let me know in the comments. I will be sure to give a shout out to all those I like or feel are deserving. Thanks for reading

What if I received an award?

Tonight’s host comes on stage

Well everybody, we are now to the award you’ve all been waiting for, the final award of the evening! (pauses for laughter)

I know it’s been a long night. We’ve given out some great awards to some deserving blogs and bloggers. Before we get to this final award, let’s take a look back at a few of tonight’s other winners…

Lights dim, video screens light up and an announcer’s voice echoes from the speakers in the corners of the room

Tonight’s humanitarian award went to Kindness Blog for showing us you can find good in any situation

This years award for best use of history in a blog was given to If I Only had a Time Machine

The award for best real life is funnier than fiction example went to Jason for his Weird Things People Say posts on Just a Selection of Notions

Many other awards were given out to great blogs like Rob’s Surf Report, Chronicles of an Anglo Swiss, The Geeky G4mer and The Return of the Modern Philosopher

Now please direct your attention back to the stage

Stage lights back up and our host begins speaking again

We now have the privilege of announcing the winner of this years Utter Silliness Award. This years winner is fairly new to the blogging world but has created quite a splash since entering.

Learning his way around the blogging world over the last two months he has managed to create a lot of laughs, a few short stories and several poems. He has most recently had poems featured on Poetreecreations and The Community Storyboard, along with one of his short stories. He has yet to be a feature on Freshly Pressed, but we’re sure he will receive that honor soon.

Although there were a lot of great blogs worthy of the Utter Silliness Award there was only one clear choice in the end. I mean how can you compete with someone who has a post about monkeys throwing poo? Lets give a big hand for tonight’s final award winner iamfunny2 for his blog Okay, what if?

iamfunny2 enters the stage and reaches the podium, pulling out a small piece of paper laying it down on the podium. He reaches down and adjusts the mic

Thank you. I am completely overwhelmed by the show of support I have received since I started my venture into this blogging world.

First and foremost let me send a big thank you to my wife who has been willing to put up with the constant tapping of keys on my laptop over the last couple months. I love you and I appreciate your support, even if its only because you’re glad to see me share my silly thoughts with others so you are not the only victim.

Also I would like to thank the blogging community and the people of wordpress for allowing us this platform and opportunity to share our thoughts.

My fellow bloggers, without you to encourage and inspire me none of this would be possible.

And finally, let me thank the daily post for giving us the writing prompts that are an inspiration and helpful tool in our successes as blog authors.

If I have missed anyone please know you are greatly appreciated as well. Thank you everybody and good night.

Thank you everyone for coming to tonight’s award presentation. We would like to thank the following sponsors. Without them we would never be able to bring you this great event. Please visit them and send your thanks
